BOTP 2019 Bette Augustine Session B Gar

Wild Roses of the Woods

Needle Turn Appliqué
Bette Augustine, Teacher

A romantic wreath of wild roses - not quite perfect but endearing in its formation - is a study of nature's handiwork. The delicate flowers resting on twining branches provide touches of dimensional work to offer a bit of realism as they wind about; and gentle vines peek out searching for the summer sun. Proper block preparation, pros and cons of overlays, needleturn appliqué, auditioning color and placement, and touches of embroidery will be taught. Learning how tweezers can become a favorite tool in addition to tips and hints will help improve their work no matter what the project.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Lab Fee: $30 includes handout, tweezers, pattern, overlay, freezer paper
